Task 2: How does your product represent particular social groups?

This is a picture of the boarding school we filmed in.

Our product represents various different social groups. It represents middle age men as we have a working middle age man as an actor in our thriller. Our thriller targets mainly young teenage boys who are in school as our opening sequence is filmed in a traditional boarding school therefore our thriller targets people who go to school and especially people in boarding schools. The actress who is playing the ghost is young and pretty wearing a small dress and therefore she would appeal to teenage boys. Generally horror and thriller films appeal and are targeted at teenage boys as it seems to increase and show others of their masculinity and strength as stereotypically teenage girls are to scared and weak to watch horror or thrillers therefore they stick with romantic films. However some teenage girls would appeal to our opening sequence as it creates a thrill and tension.
Our horror film represents an upper middle class social group as it is filmed in a boarding school. Another horror film called “the boarding school of horrors” also targets the same audience as our film we saw how effective that film was and decided that a boarding school is a perfect place to film our opening sequence. Our film involves a number of shots that are thrilling and it is aimed to bring a young audience into the cinema because the majority of teenagers are interested in thrill.
